Having cut his teeth at New York’s Nylon Studios, Jackson Mico Milas has carved out a highly successful career to date, with numerous award-winning film and TV scores under his belt including work for Tim Minchin’s acclaimed Sky Atlantic drama “Upright” and the Earth Hour campaign which gained him a nomination at the LIA Awards. Jackson also gained prominence with his band High Highs, who were signed to Elton John’s Rocket Records label, and toured with the likes of Vampire Weekend, Empire Of The Sun and Sky Ferreira.

Now, the accomplished musician and composer is preparing to unveil his debut album this November. Blu Terra brings together eleven tender and emotive compositions and finds the British-Australian artist hitting his stride.

Speaking about the single, Jackson explains:

“This is a song of distance, the melancholy of great space, of being in icy clear water, of friends very far away with their lights on inside, and of being drawn to another like a moth to light, but as you try to reach them the very night is closing around you, like a memory fading. This is a song that reflects the way time felt convoluted for us over the last 2 years.”

Likened to the likes of Bon Iver and Big Thief, the musician’s work encompasses acoustic, alt-folk and jazz elements to set up soaring and heartfelt songs all with a cinematic undercurrent rushing through it as can be heard on our premiere of the single “Lost In Seasons.”

Setting the tone for the album with the release of the double-sided single, the tender “Lost In Seasons” single comes backed with “Katia Standing Alone,” a hypnotic instrumental piece with an accompanying visualizer.

Lost In Seasons is available on Apollo from 24th June 2022 on all streaming services.

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
