Horror Fans Served up a Gory Treat at FOR THE LOVE OF HORROR Convention [Photos]
Horror fans were served up a treat as For The Love Of Horror pulled out all the stops for their 2019 weekender. Check out the photos here.
For The Love Of Horror returned this year for their latest event and, well, the organisers certainly pulled out all the stops to make sure that fans of the genre had plenty to sink their fangs into.
For two days the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester was packed out with fans of all aspects of the genre all taking in everything that is great about the genre. From stalls packed with horror merch of every kind to a live action maze to live set photo ops, two days just wasn’t enough to be able to take in everything that the Horror Con had to offer. If that wasn’t enough though, the main selling point of any Convention is the guest celebrities and, well, FTLOH pulled something really special out of the bag where that is concerned.
With a cast of horror celebrities that included Kane Hodder (Jason in Friday 13th), the IT TV series cast, and members of the horror movie franchise SAW, including the man himself Tobin Bell, it came as no surprise that spaces at the Q&A’s and at the signing desks were at a premium. However, the icing on the cake for this year’s Horror Convention was the UK exclusive appearance of eight of the original cast of The Lost Boys including Kiefer Sutherland who was performing in Manchester that evening. Fans of the film flocked in from far and wide as the group posed on stage together at a Q&A Session that, given the excitement from fans, could have gone on all night. Amidst all this excitement, the event was tinged with sadness although a one minute silence for the recently passed away horror favourite Sid Haig (who was due to appear at the convention) was observed impeccably demonstrating the love for the much-missed larger than life horror star.
A massive success, FTLOH has cemented itself as a regular name on the Horror Con calendar and how organisers are going to top this for 2020 remains to be seen because they’ve set themselves a massive target to beat.
