We’ve Been Impressed…. September Top 5
We get a TON of emails every day filled with awesome new music from independent artists all over the world. Most of the time, we get to feature our favorite ones and share them with you guys. But sometimes, we don’t have the time to get to everyone on our list. Check out the bands below to see who we’ve been raving about behind the scenes and why you will be raving about them too!
Song: “Fine.”
Who: The Honest Heart Collective
Why We Love It: “Fine.” is the embodiment of old-school ‘heart on the sleeve’ storytelling with a rock and roll vibe that masks the emotion of the song with a banger beat. You can rock out or you can wallow in your emotions, or you can do both with this single.
Song: “we are Pretty, we are Porcelain”
Who: Kashmir Winter (Collab. between Junï and Edwin Raphael)
Why We Love It: An alternative rock song with an infectious upbeat pop melody and introspective lyrics makes this driving track one that is stuck on repeat in our playlist. “we are Pretty, we are Porcelain” emits a easy-flowing vibe with musical nuances that keep the listener engaged throughout.
Song: “Fighting Fires”
Who: Samuel Jack
Why We Love It: It’s no secret that we are fans of Samuel Jack and stoked about any new music he releases. “Fighting Fires” is a ruggedly soulful performance narrating a desire for escapism that immediately resonates with listeners. The dynamic drop and Jack’s soaring vocals going into the first chorus gives us an inescapable chill that’s impossible to ignore.
Song: “Can’t Talk”
Who: Tiera Beverly
Why We Love It: Sultry vocals, dynamic drums, soaring smokey harmonies, and an undeniable hip-swaying groove are the basis of “Can’t Talk” by Los Angeles artist Tiera Beverly. Beverly creates a throwback single to the 90’s girl groups with a mesmerizingly classic R&B sound and we are here for it.
Song: “Welcome”
Who: Rumsby
Why We Love It: Synth filled with a solid amount of energy throughout, Rumsby introduces his new electronic track “Welcome” with a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ thats hard to put a finger on. Is it the delicate piano? The driving synths? The interspersed vocal snippets? The guiding beat? We’re not sure, but either way we are excited about this new artist and already anticipating his next release.
