blindspot is a band that we have proudly featured a few times now, including last year’s “All I Am” music video. Well, they’re back at it, again, and we’re once more, proudly premiering the female-fronted rockers’ latest music video, this time for the all-new single “Upside Down.” The song title is inspired by the group’s upcoming fall tour coming up next month that will be titled “The Upside Down Tour.” Make sure to grab more of the band’s music via Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music or iTunes.

This extensive upcoming jaunt will take them through the midwest, to the east coast and back in two intense weeks of rock n’ roll. The recognition and popularity of blindspot has perhaps never been higher than it is right now. They were recently nominated for “Rock Act of the Year” and “Album of the Year” for 2019 by the New England Music Awards, along with a “Best In State” honour for 2018 in Massachusetts. The release of “Upside Down” will be honoured tonight at The Middle East Upstairs in Cambridge, Massachusetts at a celebration show, along with Exit 18, Baabes and Driip. So yeah, essentially there’s a lot going on with blindspot, to say the least!

The always astute Alexa Economou, frontwoman of blindspot checked in with a comment regarding “Upside Down,” stating, “We are beyond excited to have this video be our fourth collaboration with 41st Casanova Productions. The song and video is a completely new spin on our sound and image that is both vibrant and fun. We considered this song the perfect first release to our upcoming sophomore EP due out in 2020 because it is so full of energy and passion. Being our first release of new content this year, we wanted to draw our listeners right in and give them a sonic twist that is still the familiar sound they know of as blindspot. The song is about the never-ending whirlwind and confusion of emotions any type of relationship or life event creates inside the mind. Full of color and eye-grabbing effects, we are so proud of this video and feel it is the exact representation of the mood and message of the song.”

The video for “All I Am” is both upbeat and full of swagger:

For those new to the blindspot train, allow us to get you up to speed. blindspot is led by lead singer Alexa Economou and guitarist and/or drummer Chris Cormier whose creativity has been motivated by their love of U2, The Killers, Paramore, Kings of Leon and more. These artists have helped blindspot in shaping their unique, driven alternative sound that sets them apart from their fellow youthful musical peers. They originally released their eight-track self-titled debut EP in early 2017, which was followed by “All I Am” last year.

The periodic release of singles is all in anticipation of a larger moment; the release of their sophomore record coming in 2020. While that album still being ironed out, blindspot continues to strive for more which is why they’re headed out on their “Upside Down Tour” that will begin on October 11th (view dates below). They will be returning to the Middle East Upstairs on November 2nd for both a welcome home show and Halloween bash! You can also catch them at Boston Local Music Fest September 28th in City Hall Plaza and Allston Village Street Fair September 29th. With blindspot becoming such regulars to us, it’s only a matter of time until we help debut some more of their new music to you!
