Canadian anthemic heavy metal group Atria have released their new music video for “Someone With Me.” The song is from the band’s debut EP New World Nightmare. The group plays heavy, yet catchy metal with their primary influences taken from Lamb of God, Soilwork, Tool and Slipknot. This debut release is just a teaser of what’s to come from this emerging band. They don’t just stick with the usual heavy, classic metal formula, adding lots of synth and orchestral parts over the EP’s four tracks.
Singer Tom Emmans expanded on his vision for the band’s direction, stating “I’ve always been a fan of catchy choruses. I like when bands can bring something dark and heavy, but also give me something to sing along to. We’ve tried to do that with our new single and I think we’ve accomplished that. Also the lyrics have a great deal of depth and personal meaning to them. The rest of the album is much heavier but there are still plenty of good hooks worked in there.”
