Only On Weekends are a pop punk group from South Jersey – although they like to pretend otherwise – and we are super-stoked to be debuting the track “The Rex Motel” off of their upcoming full-length, Another Wasted Night (pre-order here). Recorded with Jesse Cannon in Union City, NJ and set to be self-released on August 24th, this is the group’s third full-length and looks to be a strong continuation of their brand of music in the vein of Saves The Day, Fenix TX, Weston and The Get Up Kids.

In regards to the song, vocalist and guitarist Harry Rose had this to say:

“The Rex Motel is a real motel in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. I’ve driven past it several times and always wondered why anyone would ever stay there. It turned into a recurring joke with our friends, so I decided to write a song about it. The song is about a musician who is down on his luck and trying to hide from the rest of the world. It’s actually the last song that we wrote for the album. If you want a good laugh, you can read a couple reviews of the motel on Yelp. Hopefully the reviews of this song are a bit more positive!”

Check out the song and tour dates below, and keep your eyes and ears open for the record’s release and any shows in your area.
