Today we are debuting the video for the new song “The Ghost of Me & You” courtesy of singer/songwriter Scott Gagner. The lead single comes from the artist’s upcoming eleven-track studio recording, Pins & Needles, which is due on October 6th. Gagner’s stunning (and darker) third full-length follows 2014’s Rise & Shine and centres on topics of addiction, divorce, mental illness, and suicide.
Pins & Needles (pre-order via iTunes or Amazon) was recorded live to 2″ analog tape under the skilled guidance of JJ Wiesler (Vic Chesnutt, Girls) at San Francisco’s Decibelle Recording and includes contributions from all-stars Pete Thomas (of Elvis Costello’s The Attractions, Ron Sexsmith, Matthew Sweet), and Ken Stringfellow (The Posies, Big Star, R.E.M.).
Scott was kind enough to send over his thoughts on the clip: “The video depicts the full arc of a relationship in a surreal, metaphorical way. Though there’s humor involved, the emotional undercurrent was inspired by true events. The visual style was informed by two of my favorite artists, Wes Anderson and David Byrne.”
