Dance Gavin Dance began their “Mothership” tour with Hail the Sun, Good Tiger, and the Contortionist at the El Rey Theater in LA, greeted by the anticipatory screams of both grown men and purple-haired teenage girls. Hits from Acceptance Speech and Instant Gratification comprised most of the set, with “We Own the Night” seeing the most celebratory moshing of the night. Still, fans of their earlier material need not fret as there are some surprises, and fans of the newest album are treated to three new songs off their upcoming album, Mothership.
