Gary Clark Jr. @ Commodore Ballroom (Vancouver, BC) on April 13, 2016 [Photos & Review]
On April 13, 2016 we checked out 1 of 2 sold-out Gary Clark Jr. shows in Vancouver at The Commodore Ballroom.
The Skinny: Gary Clark Jr. played two sold-out shows at The Commodore Ballroom this week in Vancouver. It’s no surprise that the Clapton-discovered guitar hero sold out Vancouver. Gary Clark Jr. has been slaying main stages for the past 5 years with no signs of slowing down.
A refreshing facet of a GCJ event is the obvious lack of frills. From well before he steps on stage you are aware this is something he takes seriously, something that he will make you really feel. Aptly deemed “the new Hendrix,” Gary Clark Jr.’s guitar finesse has so much power that it has the ability to transcend time. There is no performance more raw than a Gary Clark Jr. show making it easy to revel in awe at this blues, garage rocker who oozes passion. Vancouver was certainly thrilled to have him!
