The Skinny: Only on Weekends are a relatively new alternative rock/pop punk band that has been making waves as of late in their hometown of Philadelphia, PA. Recently we were approached by the group to do something unique and a few weeks later we’re thrilled to bring you this exclusive, acoustic version of their song “The Prince of East 187th Street.”
Said the band of the song: “[It] is definitely one of my favorite songs of ours. It started out with some lyrics that our drummer, Anthony, had sent me that had referenced the movie A Bronx Tale. I knew that he was a big fan of that movie, but I hadn’t seen it in a long time. He lent me his DVD, and I sat down to watch it one night. I actually had a notebook and pen to jot down ideas as I watched the movie. It was the first time that I had ever done that to write a song.”
