Days Like Today – “Vacate” [EP]
A strong debut from Toronto’s Days Like Today hit the market recently, adding to a growing wave of Canadian pop-punk. With a sound reminiscent of Vancouver’s Living with Lions, Days Like Today deserve attention for this taut collection of snappy punk tunes.
A strong debut from Toronto’s Days Like Today hit the market recently, adding to a growing wave of Canadian pop-punk. With a sound reminiscent of Vancouver’s Living with Lions, Days Like Today deserve attention for this taut collection of snappy punk tunes.
The five tracks are centered by the single “Signal”, but it’s the strengths of the opener “Clones” and closer “Blackouts” that truly deliver. The first dozen seconds of the EP are the best, which is more of a testament to “Clones” achievement than a denigration of what remains. And while “Blackouts” is the EP’s strongest track as a whole, the entire release is a candid depiction of what is probably your life….
Drinking too much, getting evicted, and generally searching for validity in all the wrong places; we’ve been there, and here’s the suitable soundtrack.
