Rainbow Jackson – “Freckles” (Live in Studio) [Music Video] [Exclusive Premiere]
Rainbow Jackson is a rock band from Echo Park, California who have a split 7″ with The Hindu Pirates on Near Mess Records coming out today. The split includes a digital b-side from each band and is the first in a series of splits the label is doing with bands like The Dead Ships, Wake Up Lucid, Gothic Tropic and HOTT MT. Rainbow Jackson has been a mainstay of Echo Park’s indie scene for the last two years, supporting their friends Vanaprasta, White Arrows, NO and Youngblood Hawke. They named their band after Bo Jackson, the greatest American Pro Athlete to play two sports, and they are heavily influenced by the classics: T. Rex, Kiss, Tom Petty and The Ramones, which they have channeled into a unique sound that puts them somewhere between Weezer and King Tuff. Freckles just took 1st place spot in Diffuser FM’s Crucial Cut of the Month poll.
