Arise Horror – “Sinister Nights”

Wow!!! I had no idea what to expect when I hit play, but I was immediately blown away by this record’s sheer power and force; it is both extremely heavy and extremely brutal. After a brief intro “Crown Of Dead” hits like a sledgehammer to the face. This disc follows suit and remains seriously down tuned, heavy-as-hell and even has a staccato rhythm that reminded me a bit of Sevendust.

The comparisons end there though as vocalist Mat Laperle has an immensely powerful, unique, screaming delivery that really caps things off nicely. And the addition of the horror-themed lyrics really make this a complete package. At the end of the day I think Sinister Nights is a disc well worth picking up; it has made the regular rotation in my iPod.
