Komondor – “Migration of Eels” [Free Download]
Komondor began to form in October of 2008 when Big Lazlo Kutya (bass and throat) decided to finally act on his desire to put together a new American noise rock band incorporating the very best elements of heavy, extreme, and idiosyncratic music as exemplified by such acts as Captain Beefheart, Sonic Youth, the Unsane, Eyehategod, the Melvins and Harvey Milk.
The Skinny: Komondor began to form in October of 2008 when Big Lazlo Kutya (bass and throat) decided to finally act on his desire to put together a new American noise rock band incorporating the very best elements of heavy, extreme, and idiosyncratic music as exemplified by such acts as Captain Beefheart, Sonic Youth, the Unsane, Eyehategod, the Melvins and Harvey Milk.
Big Lazlo first found Phill (drums), who was starting up a new post-hardcore/metal band with a local vocalist. Then Big Lazlo found the Mawt (guitars) who was happy to play as demented as needed with help from his experience in indie-rock and jazz. We pushed out the original vocalist because he was never showing up for practice and because Big Lazlo wanted to sing all the songs anyway. Big Lazlo had also found another guitarist but the guitarist quit right before the band recorded a demo.
Since then it has been just Big Lazlo, Phil and the Mawt. None of us are kids. We all work full time. We hate most of the music that other people seem to like. We play what we would like to hear. We have all been in other bands. We are all now in Komondor. In 2010 Komondor released their first album entitled A Giant Is Coming & The Giant Will Kill You. [ END ]
