Bloodjinn: “The Most Underrated Metalcore Band Ever”

Bloodjinn is a dope metalcore band from North Carolina that was formed in early August 1999 by brothers Joel (vocals) and Justin Collins (drums). The Skinny: Bloodjinn is a dope metalcore band from North Carolina that was formed in early August 1999 by brothers Joel (vocals) and Justin Collins (drums). What’s funny is that despite appearing to be a new, up and coming act, these lads have been around for over a decade now. They released an EP and a couple of full lengths and even decided to take a break in mid 2003. Fortunately for fans and music itself, the band re-emerged stronger than ever. They went on to release This Machine Runs on Empty on March 26th through Pluto Records. This record was considered by many to be one of the top releases in 2007. The record is packed with sick tunes and is seriously radical.

To the awesome joy of fans everywhere, it was announced that in April of 2009 Bloodjinn would be releasing a brand new disc and follow up to their 2007 opus, titled, Between Breaths. The record was to come off singer, Joel Collins’ own record label, Forsaken Recordings which features releases from band such as Demon Hunter, Bleeding Through and Farewell. Moreover, album artwork was to be designed by Mike D’Antonio of Killswitch Engage. Needless to say the hype was mega. There is even a demo of a track called “Addictions” up on their MySpace which was set to appear on this new release. The song was ridiculous and made their already-sick music sound even better. To the utter dismay of fans everywhere, this release has still not happened.

Speculation aside, the internet does not seem to indicate anywhere if Bloodjinn are over or not. This does raise hope for many of us; fingers crossed! Long story short, this band plays metalcore that transcends the very essence of the genre itself and it’s an utter disappointment that they are not on the top of charts everywhere. They are easily one of the most underrated and under-appreciated bands out there and i implore you to check them out now; they are just that good.  [ END ]
