Arise And Ruin

The Final Dawn (2007)

A lot of people can get quite a bit done in two years: move into a new apartment, start a new job, etc.. However, I doubt many can say they recorded an EP, toured with a shit load of bands, signed onto Victory Records, and recorded a full-length album. If you don’t yet know who I’m talking about, then click “Back” right now.

Speaking from opinion, Arise and Ruin is one of the most reputed metalcore bands out there for two reasons: their music kicks ass, and the all of the guys are very relaxed and laid back off-stage. Now, onto the album.

The entire CD is utterly amazing, ranging from some oldies such as “Always The Same” to some sick new songs such as “Pale Horse” and “End Of The Road”. My personal favourite on the album is “Bound By Blood”. The track has a bit of a thrash element in it, provoking you to pound in some kid’s face. I especially love the bridge for the track, which features palm mutes and pinch harmonics. How can you go wrong?

All in all, I think the band did an amazing job with the new album, which will hopefully propel them into an amazing 2008.  [ END ]
