Album Review
Blind Guardian
Fly [CD-Single] (2006)
Blind Guardian recently put out there new three song demo called Fly and I honestly I’m not a fan of these guys, but it’s pretty decent.
The opening track is the EP’s self-titled track and the only thing I didn’t like about it this track was the fact that in this song they use a Metallica riff to the fullest. I mean these dudes have been a band for years, you think they could write all there own riffs by now.
With that being said, the rest of the CD is good. The sound quality is really well done and the songs are not complicated at all so it’s easy to listen to if you like the stuff on the radio I guess. The drums are probably the best thing about this EP; they are spot on!
The timing of the drums is right fucking tight, they’re also like a drum machine in some parts, like it’s super dead on the beat. Most bands this big don’t put out EPs before records anymore so I don’t know what’s up with that, but in a sense it’s kinda cool if you really want to think about it.
The songs are really catchy or maybe it’s just because I’ve herd some of these riffs before…. I can always tell if I’ve heard something before and there is one riff on hear I know I have heard… HAHA.
The EP isn’t even 15 minutes long so it’s more along the lines of a demo so in other words, all I can say at this point in time is that Blind Guardian is coming after you!
I give this 6 out of 10. [ END ]
