killswitch engage

Metalcore giants Killswitch Engage are still roaring across the globe on their “Disarm The Descent” tour. I caught up with them at their hometown show, here in Boston, MA, at the end of last year. I got to talk at length with bassist Mike D’Antonio about the journey KsE has been through, his inside perspective on the band, and his role as a musician, designer and member of a ridiculously talented and fun band. Enjoy!

Killswitch Engage’s sixth studio album, Disarm The Descent, is slated for release tomorrow, April 2nd, 2013. The album marks the first with returning vocalist Jesse Leach after the departure of Howard Jones, Killswitch’s vocalist of 10 years. In anticipation of the new record, we caught up with Jesse sometime back and talked about his big return, what really happened in those 10 years that he was missing, his process of self-discovery and music for him as an individual. A pretty in-depth interview, but it’s worth it! Read on.

A lot of people are waiting to hear Disarm The Descent, the new album from metalcore titans Killswitch Engage what with it being the first album since the band reunited with original vocalist Jesse Leach. You see we all knew that once Howard Jones had left the band, it was only a matter of time before Leach came home and, once he had and the subsequent live shows showed how much of a perfect match the two are, recorded material was a high priority.

I recently had the pleasure of sitting down and chatting with Jesse Leach, vocalist of the renowned metal band Killswitch Engage about their upcoming release, Disarm the Decent. This is Jesse’s first album with the band since his return a little over a year ago. The band is widely considered to be pioneers of the metalcore genre and have received numerous accolades of the years including a Grammy Nomination for Best Metal Performance. Here is how the conversation went.
