Adelitas Way


Adelitas Way opened up for The Pretty Reckless at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, CA on October 8th, 2014. Bassist Andrew Cushing of Adelitas Way made a clear statement of who his favorite sports teams are when he represented the San Francisco Giants by wearing a Giants T-shirt on stage. At the time the Giants were a major contender in the playoffs for the World Series. Cushing was loudly cheered while on stage as be busted out sick bass lines. Even with the loss of long time rhythm guitarist, Keith Wallen in 2013, Adelitas Way struck fans with a solid album. Stuck, features 13 impressive songs that are a must listen. The album was released back in July earlier this year. This was my second time seeing them live, and once again I am not disappointed! Adelitas Way not only sounds great live, but they thoroughly have a good time on stage making the night fun for everyone.

After the release of their cryptic teaser, Las Vegas rockers Adelitas Way have officially released their new single “Dog On a Leash,” now available for purchase on iTunes. The song was the #1 most added at active rock before impact date and had a strong debut at #27 this week. In a recent Loudwire interview, Adelitas Way front man, Rick DeJesus, was speaking about a recent Las Vegas show where they premiered the new single and said, “we were so excited to show all of our fans how hard we been working, and what we been working on.”

One of the most successful hard rock bands of the last couple of years has been Adelitas Way. The group is best known for its single “Invincible” which made the band famous after it was featured as the official theme song of WWE Superstars. Never one to rest on its laurels, the band has worked very hard on the follow up to their debut and Home School Valedictorian is scheduled for release on June 7th, less than two years after the release of their first record.

In the five years that the group has been together, Adelitas Way has certainly accomplished a lot. The band formed in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2005 and by 2008 they were enjoying massive mainstream success. The band has benefited from having a lot of its music promoted through the WWE as well as having its debut single “Invincible” featured in the WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 video game. How’s this for a rock n’ roll story: Adelitas Way took their name from a brothel in Mexico. It’s not as scandalous as it sounds, however – while on a road trip through Southern California, the band ended up in Mexico, only to be arrested by corrupt police who took all of the band’s money in exchange for their release.
