THE DITCH AND THE DELTA Release Stream for ‘Hives In Decline’ Prior to May 12th Release

Hives In Decline is the crushing debut LP by Salt Lake City-based The Ditch and The Delta and the band is now streaming the album in its entirety.

The album was engineered by Andy Patterson of Subrosa and it shows the band further exploring different aspects of sound design within their unique version of doom and sludge metal. The songs employ different tunings and modal centers which helps the band avoid many of the usual doom trappings of excessive feedback, static harmony, and pentatonic riffs. Lyrically, the album deals with themes of resentment for the mono culture that the three band members had to endure living in Mormon-dominated Utath.
