Jared James Nichols – “Old Glory & The Wild Revival” [EP]
Old Glory & The Wild Revival is authentic, gritty, soulful blues delivered by a twenty-two year old singer/guitarist named Jared James Nichols. It is hard to believe that someone his age could perform or even understand the intricacies and nuances of the Blues so well, but Nichols not only gets it, he excels at it. The five songs on this EP are reminiscent of such influential power house artists as Stevie Ray Vaughn and Kenny Wayne Sheppard.

Nichols has a weathered, gravelly voice that is well beyond his years and his guitar playing is fantastically jaw-dropping. He truly makes his guitar speak with fret board wizardry that combines speed with what I feel is the most important aspect of the Blues, emotion. My only complaint is that this EP is too short and flies by way too quickly. I think Nichols is going to prove himself a force to be reckoned with in the very near future and I look forward to hearing more from this truly talented player.
