Ministry Shares New Single “Alert Level”; Band Working on 15th Album
Industrial metal godfathers, Ministry have unveiled a new single and lyric video titled “Alert Level.” The track marks the first new material from the band since 2018’s AmeriKKKant, and drops while group leader Al Jourgensen and co. are in-studio working on a new album for Nuclear Blast Records, their 15th full-length recording.
With a monumental U.S. election looming, the heavily political band is wasting no time prepping their new anthems. Jourgensen comments on the song, “We finished the song in January and it sounded great during rehearsals for our Australia/Japan tour dates, before we went into quarantine. The original plan was to finish the new record before the July ‘Industrial Strength’ US tour so we could have an Election Day release, but in lieu of the circumstances—and how relevant the song feels for these bizarre times—we decided to release ‘Alert Level’ now. Considering that this song features the question ‘How concerned are you?’ I’ll be interested to see how folks answer it themselves.”
Fans can check out Jourgensen discussing “Alert Level” in more detail on the latest episode of Bill Burr’s “Monday Morning Podcast.”
Ministry also encourages fans to voice their concerns by voting in the upcoming 2020 elections and has partnered with Head Count to help voters to become registered in time. More info can be found here: http://ministryband.com/vote.
