DI SUN – “Power” [Song Review]
With its massive four-on-the-floor beat, “Power” reveals what DI SUN does better than anyone else – capture the sensation of rhythm.
Techno DJ and producer DI SUN recently released her latest single, “Power,” fueled by a contagious mix of full-on hard techno elements gilded with hints of pop.
In her own words, she explains, “In my life, the unwavering support, understanding, and love from my family are the primary factors that fill me with ‘Power.’”
Originally from China and presently based in Los Angeles, DI SUN’s multicultural background infuses her music with a unique flavor. She began playing traditional Chinese instruments in her childhood, followed by classical training, receiving her higher education in musical performance. Inspired by artists such as Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani, Space92, and Eli Brown, she explored the world of electronic music production.
At the beginning of 2023, the track “You’re My Ecstasy” appeared on mau5trap’s compilation album, We Are Friends, Vol. 11. Her music has also been released on labels like Drumcode, Nervous Records, and AfterTraxx.
With “Power,” DI SUN doesn’t hesitate, as the song instantly punches forth on wickedly fluctuating synths riding a monstrous rhythm composed of a thumping kick drum and a furiously brutal bassline. Almost delicate, with an electrifying undertone, the artist’s vocals imbue the lyrics with sultry, dreamy timbres, simultaneously inviting and dripping with risk.
With its massive four-on-the-floor beat, “Power” reveals what DI SUN does better than anyone else – capture the sensation of rhythm.
