Classical and theatrical pop artist Cameron Owen releases his cover of Les Miserables track “Bring Him Home,” a track he holds close to his heart, on April 21st via Kycker.
Cameron’s cover of “Bring Him Home” is self-accompanied at the piano, rather than his usual use of orchestral arrangements, increasing the intimacy of the track. This highlights Cameron’s incredible vocal performance and skills as a pianist.
The award-winning British pianist and singer, based in London, has a busy international performing career, collaborating with industry-leading artists in the pop, Broadway and classical genres. In late 2022 Cameron was the headline act at Dartmouth House, Mayfair.
As well as singing with the Grammy Award-winning group Polyphony, Cameron has recorded and broadcast for the BBC, Classic FM, SWR Deutschland and WQXR (New York), including giving a recital broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 for the opening of the BBC Proms with trumpeter Matilda Lloyd. The pianist has also performed at “many of the world’s foremost venues, including giving several recitals at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the BBC Proms, Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, and many other broadcasts” says The NewsRoom after his debut showcase at Dartmouth House, Mayfair last year.
The track is a personal favourite of Cameron’s and is one that holds so many memories for him, as he states:
“I’m so happy to have recorded this song, which I think is a genuine stand-out from the musical theatre repertoire. It took on new significance to me after the death of my Dad, as it was one of his favourite songs; I’d often finish live performances with it. The recording and video are dedicated to him, with gratitude”
