maeve & quinn Announce ‘Another Door’ Album with “jeweler’s row” Single
maeve & quinn have announced a new album, ‘Another Door,’ due out in September and have kicked it off with the lead single, “jeweler’s row.”
Chicago via Alaska twin sister duo maeve & quinn, churn out seriously solid indie-rock/pop/folk tunes that fall somewhere between Haim, Snail Mail, Maggie Rogers and Sharon Van Etten. They’ve now announced a new album, Another Door, due out in September and have kicked it off with the lead single, “jeweler’s row.”
The girls, both songwriters and instrumentalists, Maris and Bryce O’Tierney have an imaginative and skillfully rendered sound across the many instruments they play (guitar, violin, piano, voice). It’s distinctive in its genre-bending fusion of alt-rock, folk, and pop that’s accentuated by blood harmonies and dynamic interplay.
“jeweler’s row” is the first single release from maeve & quinn’s awaited LP, Another Door. The song is inspired by a walk around Chicago’s Loop with a new friend and is an ode to deep acceptance found in friendship (“..you won’t find some great dividing line”) — the feeling of holding and being held even at our lowest moments (“…you told me sadness is a fine way to be.”)
The twin sisters’ track leads with a blend of elegant piano and electric guitar, then rises into a melodic chorus that carries the listener into an anthemic, full-band outro.
Stay tuned for more music coming soon from maeve & quinn this summer.
