Solo Solo Tease Their Forthcoming EP; Premiere “Sudden Sea” Single
Solo Solo premières their brand new single “Sudden Sea,” a short but sweet, dreamy excursion into the indie-pop minds of this brotherly duo from Austin.
Saying goodbye is never easy; quite frankly, it’s usually pretty god damn messy. We like to let on that we were able to say goodbye in the right way, but it’s only to make us feel better about ourselves and how the relationship ultimately ended—few like loose ends or leaving almost any relationship in a way that they deem not appropriate.
Well, Solo Solo is out to tackle this issue on their brand new single “Sudden Sea.” The short but sweet track is a dreamy excursion into the indie pop minds of this brotherly duo from Austin, who are starting to emerge as performers and songwriters.
Discussing “Sudden Sea,” the brothers state:
“For us, this is a track about the harsh weather associated with goodbyes. Hindsight is 20/20 but only if we can look back without lying to ourselves about what really happened. It’s about a gray, winter light that reveals the passing of time with cold accuracy so that, unvarnished by self-deception, we can move into the New Year unburdened by the past and romantic about the future.”
“Sudden Sea” comes from Solo Solo’s brand new EP, which will be coming out in January. Situated in Austin, Texas, Greg and Jon Denn began writing and recording music for a new project during the early days of the pandemic-related quarantine. They were writing, recording, and mixing their first music in a storage unit during this time.
Through this process, they began to find their sound, which is a little bit difficult to describe. We suppose it’s technically considered indie rock, but it’s a pretty unique sound that is not precisely comparable with any other act. But that’s how they like it, satisfied to etch out their brand of music, distinctive and idiosyncratic in all the right ways.
