Rainbow Kitten Surprise dropped by Boston’s Roadrunner for three consecutive nights on their ‘Tiny Music Box Tour.’ The show was a highly anticipated event following last year’s cancellation of Boston dates for personal reasons. The tour was celebrated not only for the return to Boston but for the release of their new album Love Hate Music Box which includes new hits “Superstar” and “SVO.” I was lucky enough to catch night two of the spectacular run.

The five-man band took the two-tier stage, starting with “Fever Pitch” after an instrumental intro of “Peter Pan.” Lead singer Ela Melo donned a white lace bodysuit and tutu, exhibiting the music box ballerina theme. The setlist for the tour changes every night, so each stop features a unique show. Fortunately, we were the first to catch “Daddy Yankee” live off their new album.

They didn’t just play their new album, however. The setlist spanned several records of hits, including “When It Lands,” “First Class,” and “Devil LikeMe.” The set was lively as Ela jumped and twirled and stretched across the stage all night like a true ballerina. The night ended with an encore of “Bearwalk” followed by an all-time favourite of mine, “It’s Called: Freefall.”

I was so happy to see Rainbow Kitten Surprise back on tour and in their element. After the tour date cancellations of the past, I was unsure if I would get the opportunity but the wait was so worth it. The band has recently announced added dates to the tour so check it out while you can!
