Those with their finger on the pulse of TikTok music already know the dynamic duo that is Flyana Boss. They only hit the music scene in 2019, right before a pandemic halted their momentum. However, no obstacle can stop their success from happening. Bobbi LaNea Taylor and Folyana Kunerede found a formula that taps into the algorithms that drive engagement and views. It started with songs “Miss Me” and “Ring Around,” gaining views in the thousands. Eventually, Folyana had a vision for a video. Done via the collaborative efforts of their videographer, Evan Blum.

This is where things took off in 2023 with “You Wish.” Featuring both women running through the scene, chasing after the camera while taking turns singing their verses. Most variations of this video have at least 1+ million views, reaching 7+ million – at least on TikTok. Other platforms, such as X, have videos yielding 30+ million views. These posts have captions urging viewers to comment where they should run next. This has taken them to Santa Monica Pier, In & Out, Disneyland, Ikea, and even the Google offices.

Missy Elliot, the queen of manifesting an artistic vision, has recognized and praised their actions. This alone should make you want to pay attention to them. She also already collaborated with Flyana Boss. This came just a couple of months after “You Wish” was released; Missy Elliot herself jumped on a remixed version with a verse alongside musician Kaliii.

Flyana Boss recently kicked off their latest tour aptly named, The Bosstanical Tour. They dress the stage and themselves up in a botanical theme each night. True to theme – Folayan is rocking her elf ears in this performance. These are, of course, available for purchase at the merch counter. You can pick up a pair alongside hoodies, tees, vinyl, stickers, and even friendship bracelets.

One can take a deep dive into the Flyana Boss TikTok or check out their music via services such as Spotify, but the full Flyana Boss experience is truthfully only felt in-person. Bobbi and Folyana truly are two talented best friends living a dream. You can feel this by the way they interact with each other and by the amount of joy on their faces. The venue felt so energized and electrified by their presence.

In between songs, they knew exactly the best ways to activate crowd participation. They asked the crowd questions about favorite fruits and good break-up stories. They utilized these interactions to move the set along, which simultaneously provided a more intimate & shared experience amongst the audience.

There’s something that feels very enjoyable about the Flyana Boss performance made to entertain the viewer. From the moment they take the stage, you are drawn to their playful antics. This includes a Scream-O-Meter, choreographed movements, and bringing fans on stage.

The Bosstanical tour is making its way through the US during March. Check your local venues for opening acts, as they will vary depending on the date. For the Philadelphia stop at The Foundry, New Jersey local Honey Bxby performed a short set.
