Renowned for their innovative blend of alternative rock, rock, garage rock, and progressive rock, Andrew Neil & Code Purple have once again pushed the boundaries of musical creativity with their latest single, Blue Moon.” Captivating audiences with its whimsical narrative and infectious melody, “Blue Moon” is a standout addition to the band’s repertoire.

“Blue Moon” isn’t just a catchy tune; it’s an anthem of empowerment and resilience. Through its whimsical lyrics, Andrew Neil shares personal struggles and triumphs, using the metaphor of a “Blue Moon” to symbolize hope in the face of adversity. From overcoming mental illness to finding purpose and love, the song’s message resonates deeply with listeners, inspiring them to embrace courage and optimism in their own lives. The track pays homage to the timeless allure of Warren Zevon’s 1978 hit, “Werewolves of London.” Like Zevon’s classic, “Blue Moon” conjures whimsy and mystery, drawing listeners into a world of playful companionship and hidden depths. With its infectious melody and profound lyrics, “Blue Moon” invites audiences to embrace the magic of the night and seize every opportunity for adventure, echoing the spirit of resilience that defines rock music.

Neil comments:

“We wanted to create a song that captured the essence of friendship, adventure, and the magic of the unknown. ‘Blue Moon’ is a celebration of life’s rare and special moments, encouraging listeners to embrace the excitement of the night and live life to the fullest.”

Co-written by Andrew Neil Maternick and Logan Wayne Bush, the lyrics paint a vivid picture of playful companionship symbolized by an owl and a mysterious “Were Were Werewolf,” inviting audiences to embrace the excitement of the night and seize the moment. In addition to its enchanting lyrics and melody, the song also carries a deeper significance with its reference to the celestial phenomenon of a “Blue Moon.” Occurring approximately once every 2 to 3 years, a “Blue Moon” symbolizes and mirrors the themes of rarity and unpredictability explored in the song.
