SAMSARA Deliver a Chunk of Alt-Rock with Their “Piece of Me” Single Premiere
New York City-based quintet SAMSARA are livening up their local scene with the premiere of their new single “Piece of Me.”

Here to reinsert some excitement in the college rock scene is SAMSARA. Today, the band rolls out their brand new single, “Piece of Me.” It’s the first cut from their new record, which you’ll soon hear come springtime.
When you hear their sound and style of music, it doesn’t come as a huge surprise that they hail from the New York area. Within “Piece of Me,” you can detect the influence of the classic New York punk scene and more traditional alternative rock from the era where it was primarily the product of what was coming out of college campuses. Their sound is melodic but also heavy and ambient, illustrative of the diversity of their influences.
With a comment on the song and its significance, the band offers:
“‘Piece of Me’ is about feeling like your constantly going in circles with someone, they’re not telling you everything and you know there’s more to their story.”
Comprised of five superbly talented young musicians, SAMSARA is made up of college kids from Long Island and Queens. In the last couple of years, they have logged a lot of useful recording experience. In 2022, the band recorded with GRAMMY-winning producer Steve Addobbo at his Shelter Island Studios in New York City. More recently, they worked with producer Gordon Raphael on their upcoming record.
As a live act, SAMSARA are well regarded for their high-energy performances. Last year, they were named the winner of the Kids Rock For Kids, Battle of the Bands. They also embarked on one of their most successful tours, a seven-city-jaunt of the East Coast, with metal act Bastardane. Heavy but nuanced, musically dynamic but digestible, SAMSARA are doing what they can to stand out amongst a crowded collection of young alternative acts.
