Mega Ran Premieres His Music Video for “Lovable and Capable” (Remix) feat. Fyütch and Alphabet Rockers

As a genre of music, what’s so great about hip-hop is that it’s inspiring in so many ways, which Mega Ran has spent a career consistently tapping into. Those talents are on full display on his new single “Lovable and Capable.” Today, we help unveil the official music video for the song’s remix. It features the talents of Grammy-nominated rapper and singer Fyütch and Grammy winners Alphabet Rockers.

As a new father, Mega Ran has spent much time reflecting on his life. He’s dug deep into his childhood, which helped inspire the writing of his new album, Buddy’s Magic Toy Box. A collection of very personal songs, he focused on moments in his life that were very important to him. He identified these moments as ones that would work as wisdom and guidelines to pass down to his son.

Discussing his thought process behind writing “Lovable and Capable,” Mega Ran states:

“Affirmations are such a crucial part of my day. We all need that power-up to get us ready for the challenges of life. I wrote a song containing the words that I would’ve needed to hear when I was young. In the spirit of Rev. Jesse Jackson’s poem ‘I Am – Somebody,’ the chorus is a call and response of self-affirmation. ‘I’m good enough / I’m smart enough / I’m lovable, and I’m capable. This song is for anyone who ever thought they weren’t enough. Enjoy!”

On the topic of affirmations, Fyütch adds:

“I practice affirmations and gratitude with my daughter, daily. It’s a powerful way to build self esteem and confidence. I also love how this song also emphasizes empathy.”

It’s been a prolific career for Mega Ran, the stage name of Philly native and now Phoenix resident Raheem Jarbo. He has toured the world, played to a capacity crowd at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and performed with Tech N9ne, The Roots, Lizzo, Common, KRS-One, and more. He even owns a Guinness World Record for most songs that reference a video game.

Not only is Mega Ran a parent, but he is a foster parent, which in itself has been quite a journey. This transition has helped him improve as an artist and songwriter. With Buddy’s Magic Toy Box, he aims to teach us to be better people and respect those around us. He touches on issues such as anti-bullying, eating well, having self-confidence, and being open-minded. The record is a reminder to be open to learning no matter what age you are.
