Yesterday’s Hero Make You “Bounce” with Their Music Video Premiere
There is nowhere more rock n’ roll than a car shop which you’ll find out in the premiere of Yesterday’s Hero’s new “Bounce” music video.
If you’re a real mensch, then you know when it’s your time to bounce, like the boys in Yesterday’s Hero. The hard rockers are happy to unveil their new music video for “Bounce,” off of their new record, Ways To Hate. The seven-track effort was self-released late last month and checks all the boxes of a no-nonsense, riff-rocking good time.
There probably isn’t anywhere more rock n’ roll to record a music video than a car shop, which the band selected as the location of this badass new video clip. The primary riff featured in “Bounce” is one of the first the Ohio quartet conceived for this new record. In a sense, the riff dictated the subject matter of the song, with the band feeling that it really “bounced.” Feeding off of this energy, the song came about rather naturally and cohesively.
With some words about the song and the video, the band states:
“When things go bad it’s time to ‘Bounce.’ This track is about just having enough and being over the situation to the point that there is nothing left but to get in your Cadillac and roll out! The video symbolizes the personal rebuild after a bad relationship and the ability to pick yourself up, know your worth, and ‘Bounce!’”
Yesterday’s Hero is a small-town band with a big sound, originating out of Northwestern Ohio. They are riff-rockers through and through, blending high-energy grooves and timeless melodies to create traditional hard rock songs. Ways To Hate is perhaps the band’s grooviest release to date, somewhat of a departure from the harder rock of their past.
Remaining true to their roots, the guys wanted to release an album rather than just release one-off singles. The songs on the album are arranged in an order meant to create a feel, which is obviously not something you can do with singles. There is a heavy influence of early 2000s alternative metal throughout the record, but at the same time, it pays tribute to all of the great eras of hard rock. It’s a musical maturation for Yesterday’s Hero, a small-town band with a big-time sound.
