If you’re a fan of James Bond, then you know what a honey pot is. For the uninitiated, it’s using an attractive person to seduce and acquire information from another person. A secondary meaning is something beautiful, like a city, that everyone wants to visit.

Honey Trap, the band, is made up of Jessica Rendon (vocals), Vasilios Bouras (guitar), Angel De Los Santos (bass), and Cody Hager (drums). Based in New York City, they recently released their new single/music video, “Saints and Sinners.”

“Saints and Sinners” rolls out on a syrupy, bluesy guitar topped by Rendon’s soft, sultry vocals, followed by the song ramping up to heavy guitars as Rendon elevates her voice to deliciously scorching levels. Ebbing and rising, the harmonics shape a musical storm, highlighted by Bouras’ wailing guitar solo.

The video, directed by Tom Flynn, depicts an occult wedding ceremony in a church, with cuts to scenes hinting at the temptation of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Alive with thick, muscular blues-rock surfaces, “Saints and Sinners” succeeds because of Jessica Rendon’s bravura vocal performance.
