Motionless in White Slaughters the Bank of NH Pavilion with In This Moment [Photos]

There’s nothing better than when a show falls on your birthday. Getting to shoot a show is the icing on the cake! The last day of the “Dark Horizons Tour” landed on my birthday. Bands Motionless in White, In This Moment, Fit For a King, and From Ashes to New made for one amazing night to remember!

From Ashes to New started the night off with songs like “Nightmare,” “Hate Me Too,” and “Dead to Me,” and ended with “Through it All.” If you’re not familiar with From Ashes to New, they’re a nu-metal/rap-metal band from PA. During the opening song “Nightmare,” guitarist Lance Dowdle had a hat put on him that read “whore” on it and put on a white mask. They gave a great performance! I was entertained through their whole set.

Metalcore band Fit For A King! I’ve seen this band countless times, and I haven’t gotten tired of them! They’re a group you don’t want to miss live. Between bassist Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary’s energetic performance, Ryan Kirby’s vocals and Bobby Lynge’s guitar skills, this band is a force to be reckoned with!

Co-headliners In This Moment and Motionless in White closed up the night. Depending on the night you went to depended on who closed the show. Motionless in White is a phenomenal band! I’ve been a fan for over ten years, and I’ve seen them way too many times at the Palladium in Worcester. Vocalist Chris Motionless struts on stage to the beginning of “Scoring the End of the World,” and he has a range of screams and cleans that can’t be compared to anyone else. You can always hear the emotions that come from his songs. The setlist ranges from new to a few older songs like “Necessary Evil,” “Voices,” and “Reincarnate.” Chris said if we wanted more of their older songs, then we need to wait for their next tour this fall for that!

During the song “Slaughterhouse,” a good friend of mine, Kyle Farrar, vocalist of a Massachusetts metalcore band called Late 9, guest performed with Motionless. And Kyle murdered that guest spot! Smiles were shared between Chris and Kyle, and it was epic to watch those dreams come true of sharing a stage with your idol. The set was closed with their song “Eternally Yours.” At the end of the song, Chris threw roses out to the audience, and fans were screaming to try to get a rose.

Lastly, rock band In This Moment had the songs “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Don’t Stop Believing,” and “Salvation” play as their opening songs. Everybody in the crowd was dancing and singing along to the music. Vocalist Maria Brink comes out to the stage to dancers all dressed in white waiting for her at the opening of a door frame. Maria is dressed head to toe in white and with her face covered by a mask. They go into the song “The Purge” while Maria croons and her dancers move gracefully around her. They played seven songs which included “The In-Between,” “Blood,” and closed with “Whore.”

If you could see this tour, then kudos to you! All the bands on the bill are lively to watch on stage. They bring energy and excitement to their audiences, too! I can’t wait for the next one!
