If there’s beauty to be found within turbulence, then Coping Method has hit right on it with their brand new single “Hypomania.” Their first original song since signing to FiXT Music is a brutal onslaught of synths and industrial turmoil, along with a fierce vocal performance from lead singer Tyler Simpson.

“Hypomania” acts as a statement of cause for Coping Method, a declaration of what they are all about. They come at you like a musical incursion, meant to put you on notice that this is an ensemble that is a force to be reckoned with. If you’re a metalhead or even an EDM junkie, this is a cause you can certainly get behind.

Offering his thoughts on the band’s new single, Simpson tells us:

“‘Hypomania’ showcases Coping Method embracing a stylistic shift towards trance-infused EDM and dynamic rhythms, while maintaining a powerful heaviness throughout. In terms of its lyrics, the track takes a raw and honest dive into the intricacies of grappling with a recent diagnosis of Bipolar II. The song’s arrangement mirrors the ebb and flow of Hypomanic episodes, capturing the intense highs and the subsequent inevitable crashes.”

Coping Method is so much more than just a traditional metal band. With an open-minded and experimental approach, they borrow from a range of genres to craft a sound like no other. They infuse electronics within metal and heavy rock, and certainly not in any kind of forced or gratuitous fashion. Along with Simpson are his brothers-in-arm, guitarist Jed Stark and drummer Chad Wunderle, who provide that distorted, settled, but unsettled foundation.

If you’re ready to go on the offensive, then you have discovered your soundtrack to go along with it. Prepare for battle because the war has just begun!
