Buckle up, because it’s time to go for a ride with The Nadas. The American Midwest rockers are today unveiling “Come Along For The Ride,” the title track to their brand new album, ahead of its August 11th release via their own Authentic Records imprint.
Very much implied by its title, this a road trip song through and through, specifically about the satisfaction and gratification that comes with having a partner or close friend to accompany you on your brand new adventure.
In discussing “Come Along For The Ride,” singer and guitarist Jason Walsmith states:
“My wife and I have done 150,000 miles in the past couple of years while the band has been taking it easy. The simple pleasure of slowing down and enjoying traveling with a partner is hopefully adequately portrayed in this song,”
When Come Along For The Ride drops, it will mark the quintet’s twelfth studio album in a remarkable run that goes back now over 30 years. It was back then that they were all just students attending Iowa State University, looking for an outlet to play some tunes. Little did they know they’d be here three decades later, still writing and recording original material with a fanbase amongst the most loyal you will find.
The Nadas have concocted their unique sound, a marrying of ’70s and ’90s influences that’s like twangy alternative rock, with the twang coming from their love of good old American Southern Rock and Country. Walsmith is the band’s co-founder, along with fellow guitarist and singer Mike Butterworth. The authenticity of their sound extends back to their 1995 debut, Not a Sound. With Come Along for the Ride, the album explores the many twists and turns that we encounter in life. It’s a down-to-earth and easygoing record, a nice listen, and escape for those who want to experience something very much on the accessible and relatable side.
