Stunts Defies the Odds On their New Album ‘Housework’
Stunts defies the odds and demonstrates remarkable resilience with a distinctive and unexpected aural experience on ‘Housework.’
Stunts, a three-piece band hailing from Illawarra, Australia, has recently released their new album, Housework. In a world that was grappling with a global pandemic, Stunts defied the odds and demonstrated remarkable resilience as they unleashed their electrifying and genre-defying sound upon the world. Led by co-vocalists Matty and Racey Stunts, the band offers a distinctive and unexpected aural experience.
Described in Matty’s own words:
“Some would say that it’s the height of arrogance to invent a new sub-genre, and they’re probably right. I was hugely influenced by artists like Nirvana, The Pixies, Sonic Youth and Nick Cave … the angst, loud guitars and really strong lyrics that say something. Those influences have never left me and will always be part of how I approach songwriting.”
Housework’s lead single, “No Feels,” sets the tone with its dark and grungy atmosphere. As the song begins, listeners are immediately captivated by Matty’s raw and edgy vocals, pouring out intense longing and universal feelings of emptiness. The emotional journey takes a turn as Racey enters with her contrasting rich and emotive voice, echoing similar feelings. The culmination of the track emerges when Racey and Matty’s voices intertwine, giving voice to our innermost loneliness and yearning.
Housework is now available on all major streaming platforms. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience their unique sound of electro-grunge. Take a moment to listen to Housework today.
