Empire State Bastard Unleash Hell on Packed out Leeds Brudenell Social Club [Photos]
Featuring members of Biffy Clyro and Slayer, here’s what it looked like when Empire State Bastard visited the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds.
A few days ago, in a marquee at Download Festival, there was a mixture of confusion and excitement in the air as Empire State Bastard made their Download debut. Excitement because it was the chance to see what members of Biffy Clyro, Oceansize and Slayer sound like when they get together and confusion because, as Mike Vennart describes it, what spews out is “the most fucking poisonous vile music, just unabridged hatred in musical form.”
Roll the clock forward, and the supergroup are playing the more intimate confines of the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds. This is very much their crowd as a sold-out audience jam packs itself into the sweaty confines of the venue, embracing the full force of the hell Neil, Vennart and Lombardo unleash on them. We sent Maryleen Photography along to this intimate, unforgettable set, and you can check out her gallery from the show below. For more info on the band, visit their website here.
