London-based guitarist and music producer Muca, (Los Bitchos, L.A. Salami, Alice SK) has teamed up with UK singer and vocals performer Randolph Matthews to release new track “Way Down”, under the new world music project, The LABRIT Project.

A striking world, tribal Brazilian roots track embellished with an outstanding performance from Randolph Matthews vocals, ‘Way Down’ also comes with a modern and fresh remix and you can check out the video for the track here:

Complimenting each other perfectly, the original sounds like classical tribal world music with the uniqueness of Brazilian berimbau, yet with Randolph Matthews bringing his infectious vocals and performance style to create something fresh while the remix is a unique mix of vocal performance and beat-making with guitars, drum programming and electronic conjuring into something intoxicating.

Speaking of the track, Randolph Matthews said:

“This is no saccharine sweet love song. It’s a straight-up, unembellished truth expressed to someone to wake them up…”

This isn’t the first time the pair have worked together. Having known each other since Muca moved from Brazil to the UK, the producer has already produced some of Randolph’s songs in the past. Now he’s releasing his own project, Muca knew he wanted Randolph to be one of the first artists he worked with.

Muca is now working on his debut solo album inviting singers to join him for his soul/jazzy/bossa/groovy style so it shouldn’t be long before Muca is a name on everyone’s lips.

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
