Christian singer-songwriter Katy Weirich celebrates the true reason of the season with her dazzling take on the iconic Christmas tune, “Joy To The World (Hallelujah),” out now. Weirich revels in holiday spirit in this project; for her, this rendition embodies the power and significance of faith during the Christmas season. The inspiration for this song is centred around the word “Emmanuel,” meaning ‘God is with us.’ This intricately constructed production – courtesy of multi-grammy award-winning producer Tedd T. – caresses Weirich’s buttery vocals in the colourful dimensions of a beautifully balanced, crystal clear soundscape. Spritely, vibrant symphonies embellished with reverberant bells and smooth keys serve as the foundation for the track.

Weirich bellows in the epic chorus, “Hallelujah God is with us // His name is Jesus,” recognizing her love and appreciation for her faith in an emotional exclaim; “to think that God would send His only son down to our level,” says Weirich, “become one of us, dwell among us and ultimately die to save us is breathtakingly awesome.” For the devout Christian, this is “God’s greatest gift to mankind. It’s the reason we sing ‘Joy to the World’ every time Christmas rolls around, and it’s why [she] wrote this new rendition.”

Singer, songwriter and worship leader, Katy Weirich (pronounced y-rick) is an autobiographical songwriter who pours herself into each song, drawing on her love of scripture to create songs that glorify God and celebrate the infinite love He has for His children. A wife and mom to three young children, Weirich finds a way to chase her passion for music despite a busy lifestyle. With an EP on the way in 2022, Weirich’s focus remains centred on pointing back to God. “The main purpose of this music is to glorify the Lord. He’s the reason for all of it. Something I’m always working on is proclaiming truth in spite of my feelings. The only anchor for our hope and our beliefs is His word.”
