Fans of bands the likes of Tool and Gojira might want to explore the alternative-metal/progressive rock stylings of the Berlin, Germany-based group, Threads. The band just released their debut EP, titled Akasha, on June 24th via Alcyone Records.

Formed in 2019, the group’s roster consists of musicians Tallon Smith (v0x), Angelos Tzamtzis (guitar, songwriter), Tim Crawford (guitar), Vangelis Sazanides (bass), and Felipe Melo Villaroel (drums). Akasha was recorded Francisco Domini and Angelos Tzamtziby at Berlin’s Kaos studios.

According to a recent press release, “Threads. plays an ever-changing style of progressive metal with post-rock, ambient and stoner elements that form their unique musical style.”
