Comedian ROB VAN VUUREN Confirmed to Emcee South Africa’s PIRATE FESTIVAL 2019!
South African comedian, actor and professional nonsense talker Rob van Vuuren is set to emcee Pirate Fest 2019, the biggest Pirate Party in the world on the 7th of September!
Shiver me timbers! Things are continuing to get bigger and better for the South African music scene! Last month we learned more about the movers and shakers in the alternative music scene, Kraken is Alive (read our interview with the festival and event organizers here). Now, the pirates have announced that their 2019 Pirate Festival will be featuring more delicious local bands and there’s even a new bandit on-board to host the musical acts.
South African comedian, actor and professional nonsense talker Rob van Vuuren is set to emcee Pirate Fest 2019! The comedic superstar (known as Righteous Rob in crusty Pirate circles), will join The Kraken Hunter as her Helmsman to steer Captain Renegade, First Mate Calico J and their dastardly krew to the biggest Pirate Party in the world on the 7th of September!
This unique event will celebrate all things alcohol, pirates and rock n’ roll. International bands like Alestorm will be duly supported by top local acts Tweak, Fuzigish and Hellcats as well as a wide selection of alcohol and entertainment throughout the day.
The event is rated ARRR 18+ and tickets are available now. To purchase, log onto www.thekrakenisalive.com and become an Acolyte of the Kult of the Kraken and part of the fabric of this story and the exciting adventures to follow.

Here is the official Pirate Fest poster, happening September 7th at Marks Park, Orange Road, Emmarentia, Johannesburg, South Africa. Tweak and Fuzigish have since been added to the bill.
