It’s Friday! So, whether you’re planning on skipping work, heading to the office, hitting the gym, or partying all night long, there’s zero reason you can’t do what our staff is doing, and enjoy a tasty “Bourbon in Bed”. Go on, you’ve earned it! Speaking of alcoholic gold, Kent, Ohio-based rockers, The Outside Voices, who are set to release their new album Stoned & Lonely on March 1st, are today debuting their brand new single, “Bourbon in Bed”. The quintet formed in 2016 and mash together power pop, rock, roots and a whole heap of fun into their rad tunes, more of which you may check out on their website.
While 2017 saw their 10-track debut full-length, Hound Dogs, 2018 was greeted with a 4-song EP called Big, Big EP. 2019 has the guys serving up their most creative and complex music to-date, tunes that are bound to garner them loads of new followers. Strangers to many, at this point, John Patrick Halling (vocals, guitar), Jimmy Dykes (guitar, vocals), Kevin McManus (bass, vocals), Johnny Miller (lead guitar), and Sam Langstaff (drums) are soon to be more commonly known.
Speaking on the tune, the band’s John Patrick Halling noted: “Kevin was the one who first brought ‘Bourbon in Bed’ to the table, and it was actually the first song we’ve co-written since starting the band, which was exciting. It’s a fun song which was inspired by a number of real-life experiences by various members of the band. We fall fast, and we let go slow. Sometimes things don’t work out the way you want them to, but you get good stories out of them.”
As we already stated… the breakfast of champions might include “Bourbon in Bed”.
