Cradle Of Filth – “Total Fucking Darkness” [LP2] [Album Review]

Cradle of Filth’s Total Fucking Darkness is the extreme metal band’s third demo. With their success being on a continuous rise, lead vocalist Dani Filth decided to remaster said demo so that fans, both new and old, were exposed to/could access even more Filth.

The demo is rather long running (it comes in at close to seventy minutes) and is packed with content that hardcore fans will just eat up. That said, after hearing most of the group’s recent work, then coming back to Total Fucking Darkness, one can definitely tell that this is a demo; it’s got that vintage quality to it.

Upon listening to this record I had not heard any of the CoF’s early demos and I’m truly glad I got to experience a small part of their history. If you’re holding out for that new Cradle recording then there may be a bit of a wait ahead, but if you’re not already aware and want to take a trip to see what this band was producing at the dawn of their career, then you’re in for a treat.
