The latest track from L.A. based band Cosmic Suckerpunch is “Glad You’re Here Now,” available here for free download. The group really lives up to its name with spacey rock hooks rooted in funk and coloured in starry style. The band has spent some time honing their live skills playing shows around the Los Angeles area, but it wasn’t long before they were performing in legendary local venues like The Viper Room and The House of Blues. Add on to that big time festivals such as Bonnaroo, Outside Lands and South By Southwest and Cosmic Suckerpunch was getting some major early recognition.

The group self-released its debut album Good Morning a couple of years ago and are now back again with their latest release, the EP Breathe. This EP is really a big step forward for Cosmic Suckerpunch with “Glad You’re Here Now” being the most anthemic song of all. Other standouts include “The Voice” which ravages you in true rock and roll style, delivering deep rhythmic riffs, and “I Don’t Know,” which starts with a tune reminiscent of Kurt Cobain and Nirvana.
