Album Review
Hellsing MX – “The Sun Will Never Rise” [EP]
Mexico’s Hellsing MX have made a pretty damn good EP here. The Sun Will Never Rise, while not the most original thing I’ve heard, features well-played melodic death metal similar in style to Amon Amarth or old In-flames.

Song-wise the album consist of five catchy tracks with great riffs and fantastic musicianship all around. The band really excels at this style of music and I can just see the songs whipping a crowd into a frenzy. Tracks like “Razor” and “The Rival” show that Hellsing MX will soon be ready to take their music to the next level. And even though this album sounds great, I’m sure it’ll smoke even more in a live setting.
About the only criticism I can offer here is that the production sounds a bit muddy, which really doesn’t suit this style of music very well. Melodic-death screams for pristine production and as a result this can make for a less than enjoyable experience at times. Overall however, the album is quite good and recommended if you’re into melodic death metal at all – and it’s only 190 pesos!
