The Raconteurs – “Live at Montreux 2008” [Blu-ray Review]
This Blu-Ray disc captures, The Raconteurs, (fronted by Jack White of White Stripes fame) at the 2008 Montreux festival where they entertained the capacity crowd with their brand of raw, gritty rock and roll. The performance was part of a tour in support of their second release, Consolers Of The Lonely and it really showcases the band in what I feel was the highlight of their career. The movie includes fantastic, passion-filled performances of hits such as “Broken Boy Soldier”, “Salute Your Solution” and many more.

As far as the Blu-ray is concerned, the quality is absolutely stunning and when viewed on my big screen TV in 5.1 Surround Sound I got so lost in it I felt as if I were in the crowd; it is that good. With sixteen songs total, fans of the band will totally dig this release while those not familiar with The Raconteurs will find it to be a terrific introduction and overview to a wonderful rock group.
