Album Review
16 – “Deep Cuts From Dark Clouds”
16’s album Deep Cuts From Dark Clouds is a heavy, lurching beast. Singer Cris sounds like Phil Anselmo on acid as he screams out songs with titles like “Ants In My Bloodstream”, “Bowels Of A Baby Killer” and “Opium Hook”. Equal parts fascinating and disturbing Deep Cuts From Dark Clouds is not so much enjoyable as it is engrossing at times. Oftentimes the songs can be really catchy, but this is definitely not stuff that you will ever hear on the radio. As a sludge album this one actually works quite well and is certainly recommended for fans of the genre.
