Pillow Talk – “A Slip of the Pen” [Free Download]
Pillow Talk is certainly not your average band. With an intriguing cocktail of indie, folk, country and pop this group brings something new and with unique flair to the forever growing world of indie music. What’s amusing about PT’s sound is that just when you think you’ve pegged it, it changes again. Incorporating decidedly “country” elements (pedal steel, mandolin and banjo) and coupled with lyrics surrounding simpler times, heartbreak, getting lost and more, the band is seemingly all over the map; yet in a very constructive way.
The Skinny: Pillow Talk is certainly not your average band. Sonically and thematically think of it as organized chaos – and it works. Pillow Talk lead singer and songwriter Jerid Reed Morris croons with the very best in his field while his supporting band mates hammer on their instruments with ease and grace. While soft and soothing and the group’s music is equally disruptive and invigorating… definitely not subject suited for the pillow or bedroom.
