Album Review
Beneath The Sky – “In Loving Memory”
August 15, 2008 Beneath The Sky announced their breakup. It was sad to hear the news of such a great band splitting. To the surprise of many, sometime afterward this break up, the group announced they were back together and would be releasing an album. The name of the release was In Loving Memory and it brought back memories of how awesome they were prior to their breakup.

The name of the release was In Loving Memory and it brought back memories of how awesome they were prior to their breakup.
Appropriately named, the first song on the album, “The Opening,” fades into a breakdown which continues on into the song “Sorry, I’m Lost”. After some breakdown there is…. a different breakdown which streams into a simple chorus with Joey Nelson’s familiar voice. Each of the album’s songs consist of breakdowns and catchy choruses. It is a formula that works well for this band; so if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Beneath The Sky have created a melodic but hardcore album. Everyone should have no hesitation in purchasing In Loving Memory and when you get it, play it on repeat. Fans of Carnifex, Arise And Ruin, The Autumn Offering and Farewell To Freeway will like this album. Also past fans will really dig this release, it ties in old styling and modern flair.
